| HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE! The Christmas Open House Season has now drawn to a close with many memories of FANTASTIC DISPLAYS! I know that I can safely speak for all the members and express our appreciation to the hosts of the open houses. You have once again raised the standard for hospitality and decorations! We had a pleasant surprise when Teresa Boivin flew in from Denver and made a surprise visit to Bill and George's open house. For those of you that were not able to attend, you can view photos on our website. Thanks to Jerry Fernon for taking the pictures and Jeffery Kirchner for arranging and posting them on our website. The Toys for Tots campaign was another success. Our members once again filled Bonnie's van with toys. Over 140 toys were brought to the meeting. Thank you for participating and bringing a smile to the face of a child! We had a nice group of members support the Charity Tree Lighting Event on Dec 5th at the Ronald McDonald House here in Fort Lauderdale. (See the photos on the website.) As always we got many nice comments and some good publicity for our club with the North Pole Village Display. Our next meeting (Jan 17) will include a visit from Felix Cruz of Dept 56 with the latest scoop on D56. Remember this will be a swap and sell meeting so you can pick up the missing pieces for your village and trade off the duplicates that you no longer need. I hope you have your vignette ready for our vignette contest, we had some really great ones last time. See the rules in this newsletter. Finally, this will be our election of officers meeting. Since this will end my term as President, I would like to thank everyone for being so kind and helpful during my term of office. I think things ran rather well and I couldn't have done it without your help. I had lots of fun and gained satisfaction knowing my efforts made the club better and more enjoyable for everyone. If you haven't served as an officer, please do so, you won't regret it. That's all the news for now. See you at the meeting. |
| JANUARY MEETING Along with our guest speaker, Felix Cruz from Dept. 56, Swap & Sell and Vignette Contest, we will be having a silent auction of items that have been donated to our club that you might like for your display.
